Matei Olaru, Chief Executive Officer & Director

Matei Olaru is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Lift & Co., a data-driven cannabis media and technology company. Under his leadership, Lift & Co. has become the world’s leading review platform of federally-legal cannabis products, raised $13-million and gone public, tripled its team, and launched several key products that empower the cannabis industry to make better-informed decisions through superior information and connections. A corporate lawyer and consultant by trade, Matei previously helped advise international governments on business and investment policy with the World Bank in Washington, D.C. and practiced law in Toronto with a focus on cannabis and corporate matters. As CEO of Lift & Co., Matei regularly appears on BNN, CP24 and CBC, and has commented on stories in Forbes, Financial Post, Toronto Star and Maclean’s.

Kasia Malz, Chief Financial Officer

Kasia is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Lift & Co. She has her Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA designation and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of Illinois. Prior to Lift, she was the CFO of Titanium Transportation Group Inc. (TSXV:TTR), which she took public in 2015 and supported the company's growth from $42 million to $185 million in revenue. Kasia also managed Titanium's M&A strategy and successfully closed and integrated five acquisitions. Prior to joining Titanium, she was an assurance manager at Williams & Partners Chartered Professional Accountants LLP with extensive experience in assurance, valuation, quality control and tax. Kasia holds a Masters of Accounting and an Honours Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo.

Josh Kerbel, Chief Technology Officer

Josh Kerbel is the Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of Lift. Josh brings over 15 years of entrepreneurial experience in technology and product management. Josh has worked across a range of sectors and technology domains with previous roles at Extreme Innovations, r/ally, Waygoz, and other companies with a focus on machine learning, mobile applications, and IoT. Josh has managed multiple multinational teams, raised capital for early-stage start-ups, and implemented numerous ROI-driven development processes. Josh has an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Ontario. Josh was recently a Mentor at The Entrepreneurship Hatchery at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Applied Science and Technology.

Jon Kamin, Chief Revenue Officer

Jon Kamin is the Chief Revenue Officer of Lift & Co. Until August 2018, Mr. Kamin held the position of Chief Executive Officer at viadata.io, a ground-breaking source of first-party digital user data for a variety of enterprise clients in financial services, direct-to-consumer insurance, and retail. The company was a result of a transformation from yconic.com, a longstanding leader in Canadian student-segment marketing where Mr. Kamin was Managing Director, and which was successfully sold to Leger Market Research. Prior to this, Mr. Kamin held the role of General Manager of the Non-Automotive Business Unit at autoTRADER.ca, where he delivered successful customer and revenue growth of +65% over a three-year period. Mr. Kamin also held a variety of positions at Torstar Corporation, culminating in his leadership of the company's digital automotive portfolio. Prior to Torstar, Mr. Kamin was a Consultant at Bain & Company, a leading strategy consulting firm. Mr. Kamin holds an MBA from the Rotman School at the University of Toronto.

Directors

Stuart Miller, Board Chair

Stuart Miller is Chair of the Board of Directors of Lift & Co., and is also the Chair of the Compensation, Governance and Nominating Committee. Stu Miller is currently a member of the executive leadership team for ecobee, a leading smart home technology company, and brings over 20 years of experience in the legal, finance and corporate governance arenas. Mr. Miller is also a member of the Governance Committee of North York General Hospital, one of Canada's leading community hospitals, and is the Honorary Consul for the Republic of Seychelles in Toronto, Ontario. Over a diverse professional career, he has served as the Senior Vice President and General Counsel from 2015 to 2018 for a renewable power development subsidiary of the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS), which manages the largest public pension plan in the U.S., and the CIM Group. Stu’s previously roles include serving as the Managing Director and General Counsel for Macquarie Group’s North American private equity and infrastructure funds management division (now Capstone Infrastructure Corporation) from 2005 to 2015 and as the Executive Director (Legal Department) and Corporate Secretary for Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, which was listed on the NYSE and the TSX. Stu began his career with McCarthy Tetrault LLP, a leading Canadian law firm, where he was a Partner specializing in corporate finance, securities law, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance. Mr. Miller earned his combined Master of Business Administration/Juris Doctor degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and completed the Multinational Management Program at the Wharton School of Business.

Deborah Rosati, Director, Vice Chair

Deborah Rosati is on the Board of Directors of Lift & Co. Deborah is an accomplished Corporate Director, entrepreneur, Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant (FCPA) and certified Corporate Director (ICD.D) with more than 30 years of experience in technology, consumer, retail, private equity and venture capital. As an experienced Audit Committee and Nominating & Corporate Governance Committee chair, Deborah provides extensive knowledge as a Corporate Director in the areas of financial and enterprise risk management, corporate strategy, transformational changes, M&A, corporate governance and CEO and board succession planning. Deborah is the Founder & CEO of Women Get On Board, a leading member-based company that connects, promotes and empowers women to corporate boards. She was selected as a Diversity 50 2014 candidate, and also recognized in 2012 as one of WXN’s Top 100 Canada’s Most Powerful Women in the corporate director award category.

Daniel Finkelstein, Director

Daniel Finkelstein is on the Board of Directors of Lift & Co. Daniel is the Principal and Chief Product Officer at Gotham Green Partners (“GGP”), a New York-based private equity firm focused on deploying capital into cannabis and cannabis-related enterprises. Prior to launching GGP, Daniel was the Founder and CEO of Timber Ridge Capital, Founder and CEO of Henry Scott Ventures, and a Consultant for Finkelstein Timberger East Real Estate. An early investor in the cannabis space, Daniel has a Bachelor of Science in Management from the A.B. Freeman School of Business as Tulane University.

Mariana Fonar, Corporate Secretary

Mariana Fonar is the Legal Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Lift & Co. Prior to joining Lift & Co., Mariana worked as Senior Legal Counsel at SkyPower Global, one of the world’s largest solar-energy companies, where she was involved in international M&A deals and provided legal expertise to manage corporate, commercial, employment and governance matters. Mariana was also an Associate at Dale & Lessmann LLP in the Corporate/Commercial and Employment Law Groups, and has previously worked at the Bank of Montreal and in Product Planning at Mercedes-Benz Canada. Mariana is currently the President of Young Women in Law, a not-for-profit corporation aimed at encouraging and promoting the welfare, interests and retention of young female lawyers. Mariana was called to the Ontario Bar after obtaining her Juris Doctor from the University of Western Ontario. She has an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business and an Honours Bachelor of Administrative Studies (Marketing) at York University.
